Social Responsibility

Woodridge College takes its commitment and social responsibility to the community very seriously. As an example to its students, it takes pride in providing a good learning environment where nature and man can exist in harmony. Through the school's conscious effort in taking care of the plants and trees, and minimizing wastes, the pupils/students in turn are becoming environmentally friendly and conscious.

Here are some projects that we have undertaken:

Community Development Projects Initiated/Implemented - “The Green Umbrella”

The school initiated a splendid community development program. As an integral part of the Woodridge College community concern and awareness program, the whole school has undertaken a project, “The Green Umbrella”- planting shady trees like the acacia trees, fire trees along the main roads. The main objective is the propagation of fast growing and preferred wood species. Rows of trees are planted. Tiny seedlings grow into huge trees. With God's sunshine and gentle rain, they grow and become a thing of beauty, a sight to behold. These trees now grow so tall, mighty and huge which serve as a canopy or big umbrella to passersby. The children also realize the importance of clean environment for good health.

A Project for the Indigents - “Bigay Puso”

Gift giving has been a yearly tradition of the school. Its desire is to give the indigent members of the community a joyful Christmas, to give them cheer and goodwill. The people who are beneficiaries have very little in life. An ocular inspection is done by the school's teachers to evaluate the proper recipients of the project. The support of the school children and their parents is indispensable for the success of this project. The values of generosity and concern for the less fortunate are also developed in them.

Helping Build the Community Church

Woodridge College becomes a consistent benefactor of the Church. The school has contributed much for the major construction of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish for the benefit of the community.

Propagation of Seedlings for Distribution to the Community

Seedlings are grown into plants and trees and are distributed to the people of the community for the greening campaign of the school.

Medicines and Vitamins

The school receives donations in kind. These are given to the community health centers and to the Barangay Centers to be given to those who are in need.
